The Morvin field development project

Norway

The Morvin field is located 20 kilometres west of the Åsgard B platform at Haltenbanken in the Norwegian Sea.

Built on previous experience

Statoil will utilize experience from the Kristin field to develop the Morvin field. The recoverable reserves in the Morvin field are estimated at 70 million barrels of oil equivalent with an estimated production period of 14 years. The oil will be piped 20 kilometres to Åsgård B, where the oil will be processed. If everything goes as planned Morvin may come on stream in the summer of 2010.

Detailed design of flowlines and umbilical

Ramboll Oil & Gas is in charge of the detailed design of Morvin pipeline system. Ramboll's scope of work includes detailed design of a 10” flowline with DEH cable, in-line manifold tee, tie-in spools to two templates and a riser base, and protection covers. In addition, the scope of work comprises detailed design of Morvin umbilical routing and protection, including tie-ins.
